My Tired Eyes

Alright, a month has passed, I’ve stalled as long as my friends will let me. They have been relentless, reminding me I agreed to do this and that I would give it my best effort.

Well, to begin with I googled ageing. Yikes!!! Did I really pick this topic? For someone that is not ageing gracefully and has no intention of doing so, I don’t know if this was a very smart decision. The first thing I notice is the word “presbyopia” and I think, what the heck is that? It doesn’t sound very good. I click on it and yes, I have that. It is when it becomes difficult to see things that are close. It . The first thing I notice is the word “presbyopia” and I think, what the heck is that? It doesn’t sound very good. The first thing I notice is the word “presbyopia” and I think, what the heck is that? It doesn’t sound very good. I click on it and yes, I have that. It is when it becomes difficult to see things that are close. It says it begins in the forties. It did for me but in my late forties. I noticed it most when I would read before bed and the light wasn’t very good. I got a pair of reading glasses with my prescription made a few years ago and I am still using them even though I’ve noticed that it is getting more and more difficult to see small letters. Good thing they now make audio books, haha. That’s actually not a joke. I would have probably had to get new glasses if I had to do a lot of reading. What’s really frustrating is when I’m in a dimly lit restaurant and I can’t read the menu, grrrr. I haven’t yet begun to carry reading glasses along with me when I am out.

Fortunately, I have a stigma. One of my eyes sees better far and the other sees better closer. the doctor tells me this is the best kind to have. being that I’m 52 and I can get away without any corrective lenses still, I’d have to agree with him. Apparently there is no laser treatment for presbyopia. Look at me, using such a big word. Because if there was, I’d be in there in a flash to have the procedure done.

Speaking of procedures…..stuff like facelifts, neck lifts etc, we all know they exist. You can count on me sharing that information with you. I have actually been blessed. Comparatively speaking, I look pretty good for my age. That does not mean plastic surgery is not in my future because it totally is. Maybe I’ll do some digging into that next.
